My story:

I guess having a newborn is not enough to fill my days!  I’m now a distributor for a product called Juice Plus.  It is not a vitamin or mineral supplement. Juice Plus provides whole food based nutrition in a capsule form.  Seventeen different vegetables, fruits, and grains form this product!

     About 11 months ago, I started making changes to my family’s diet---mostly reducing processed food.  After reading and hearing about how disease and diet are related, I tried serving us a smorgasbord of veggies and fruits.  I wanted to make sure that I was giving my baby the best possible nutrients. I quickly realized that I wasn’t coming close to eating the daily recommended servings, even on my good days. My husband and I are also too picky to eat some veggies like beets and kale on a regular basis.
      I heard about Juice Plus from my Pilates Instructor. I decided to try it out myself after seeing all of the research for pregnant women and running it by my OB.  I noticed positive changes in my sleep and overall energy level. I have continued Juice plus in order to give my nursing baby the best possible nutrients and keep some for my body!
       Juice Plus is not a substitute for eating a wide variety of vegetables and fruits.  It is intended to complement a healthy diet.  Most importantly it helps to fill the gap between what we SHOULD eat and what we ACTUALLY eat every single day.  It is very difficult (nearly impossible) to meet the recommended amounts of vegetables and fruits in our diet each day. 
     Although vitamins are easily accessible and cheaper than Juice Plus, our bodies do not fully absorb vitamins as they are processed and delivered in vitamins and supplements.  In addition, most of these items are not backed by valid research supporting their benefits.  Juice Plus is the most thoroughly researched name brand nutritional product on the market today.  The makers of Juice Plus have extensive research with children, adults, the elderly, and even pregnant women.  Juice Plus is not a vitamin.  Instead, Juice Plus is made from fresh, raw vegetables and fruits that are juiced, concentrated into powders at low temperatures to preserve the nutritional value, and then made into capsules.
     Lastly, Juice Plus is GREAT for children, especially the picky ones!  I feel great knowing that Aiden and I are absorbing the full amount of nutrition we need from vegetables and fruits (17!).  There is no way I could come close to that, even just one day a week.  There are several options for kids including: chewables, capsules that can be added to applesauce, yogurt, etc. or gummies (like fruit snacks).
