This is a fantastic movie!  It is a French film with English subtitles about singer Edith Piaf.  Edith Piaf  was famous French singer who lived a very interesting life - it's as if she was born for her life to be put on film.  The lead actress, Marion Cotillard, is amazing in this movie - she plays Edith Piaf throughout her life and it is incredible how well she played the part.  I rented this before I heard any of the golden globe talk and after seeing it, I definitely agree with the nomination.  I really enjoy foreign and independent films, but even if you typically don't, it is worth a watch!
