My kids love to eat off of the kids menu wherever we go but some places are really strict about it!  When we eat at Chevys, they like to get the kids meal, then I will order the trio meal & split it with them & were all full & have left overs for 2 days that way.  But depending on which one we go to & the time of day, they will limit the kids menu to their age specified.  Now Culvers, we always order kids meals because the bugers are the same size as the Butterburgers, plus...you get a free kids cup of Custard...lol  Thats the best part!  So it pays to eat off the kids menu when you can!  Just an FYI......
