Running. For lack of a better subject heading.
I used to always say that I hated to run. That the only time I ran was if someone was chasing me. I never knew what running was really all about. My only experience with running until a few years ago was the annual 1 mile run in gym class for the President's Physical Fitness test. Of course, I was in no shape for a 1 mile run and usually felt like puking by the time it was done.
A few years ago I was feeling stressed out and so I started going for walks around my neighborhood in the evening to blow off steam. Soon, walking did not seem like enough. So, one night, I ran a block, then walked and panted and then I ran another block. It actually felt good! I was shocked! I began running/walking a couple of times a week up until last September when we were trying to get pregnant. When I stopped, I started missing it. Now that I have recovered from my c-section this August, I am starting to run again. It feels good to push myself physically. My mind is clearer and it is something that I do just for me!
This should probably be in "Hitting the Gym." And I'll repost it there as well, but the mental strength from the physical workout and the clarity of mind, make it fit here as well
