There are several chances for families of peanut-allergic children to take in a peanut-safe baseball game in the St. Louis area this season! The St. Louis Cardinals and the River City Rascals have teamed up with Gateway FEAST (Food Allergy, Eczema, and Asthma Support Team) to provide the following opportunities:
1. St. Louis Cardinals - On July 21st at 7:15 p.m. the Cardinals will take on the Milwaukee Brewers and section 328 has been designated as peanut-safe for that game. Tickets are $22.00 each (children 3 and under are free if they sit in a parent's lap) with a $4.00 per order convenience fee. Tickets may be purchased by contacting the Cardinals' group events box office at (314) 345-9500 and requesting peanut-safe section 328 for the July 21st game.
2. River City Rascals - Every Wednesday home game section 109 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon, Missouri is peanut-safe. T.R. Hughes Ballpark is the home of the minor league River City Rascals. Box tickets are $10 each and reserved tickets are $8 each (add $1 per ticket if purchased on day of game). Tickets may be purchased online at www.rivercityrascals.com or by phone at (636) 240-BATS. Please mention that you would like tickets for a Wednesday game in peanut-safe section 109. The Rascals are also offering free parking this season.
Each of these teams has provided training to their staff and will have EMT's available nearby each section. There will also be signs indicating the section is peanut-free and the area will be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly.
