Does anybody have any advice for starting finger foods with their baby? My son is 7 months old and I've tried to give him those dissolvable fruit puffs, but he doesn't seem to like them and starts gagging. Am I just trying too soon? I really want to get him used to table food early because I didn't do that with my older son (he was eating babyfood until after age 1 because I was so afraid of him choking) and now my older one HATES vegetables and basically anything with any kind of texture. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi Liz,
You may want to hold off on finger foods for another month or two. His tongue-thrust reflex may still be kicking in. While it may not seem like it, all the pureed foods will give him the exposure to a variety of different foods. Keep giving him pureed foods for now and in a couple of months, he will probably have a different reaction to them and food that is semi-chunky. I understand your fears though, but remember we all learned a lot from our experiences with our first child! Hope that helps!
