Last year, I told my kids that they were no longer allowed to watch Spongebob Squarepants. At first, I didn't seem to mind it and found some of the episodes rather funny, but then I discovered that the show is really inappropriate and the characters are pretty "sassy" in their use of language and my kids were starting to speak to each other, myself and their dad in a tone of voice and language that they had picked up from the show. At first, giving it up was difficult, especially for my 7 year old. However, it is no longer an issue and there are better cartoons to watch in the morning before school. They love Curious George and the will tolerate Dora for the sake of their sister.

Yeah, I agree it isn't really appropriate even though Nickelodean has it rated as Y7. I do, however, have to admit that I let my 3 year old watch it on occasion because it's the only thing he and his dad enjoy together. Yep, my husband has the same sense of humor as a preschooler! I'll make them stop though if I start getting sassed at!
