I don't typically use dryer sheets, so maybe that is why this is news to me. But, I happened to pick up a box of them the other day and read a warning on the box that dryer sheets decrease the flame resistant capability of children's pajamas. Was anyone else aware of this? Thought I would pass it on in case I wasn't the only one in the dark on this issue.

No, I wasn't aware of this either. Hmm I wonder if it is the sane with liquid fabric softner? I will have to read the back of the bottle. Thanks for the insight.

Dryer sheets can also cause a fire when they get caught in the lint trap and dryer vent. I had a co-worker AND a neighbor who both had devestating fires that started in the dryer. I don't know for sure if they used dryer sheets, but it's something to think about. If you're scared away from dryer sheets now but still have a box at home, I also use them (don't laugh) in the winter when my hair is flying away because of static electricity. I just run a dryer sheet over my hair and it calms back down.

Any recommendations for softening laundry then? Love the tip for the hair and the static cling...I'm putting a box of them in my car!

When I used to forget to put my liquid softener in the washer I would put some on a wash clothe and throw it in the dryer with the wet laundry it worked.
