Yes!  We have lots of very easy to prepare food...everything is either "open and enjoy" or requires 2 or less ingredients.  Very easy, but delish foods!  I do home taste testing parties, it's SO much fun.  It's nice to meet you, Arbonne is a wonderful company.  Hope to get to know you better!

So we have an Arbonne representative (my mom uses that) and a tastefully simple rep. That's good to know . I am a representative for Gold Canyon Candles, but I'm relatively new to the St. Louis area and am finding it somewhat difficult to find enough business to allow me to stay at home. If you haven't tried these candles, they are the best!

Hi ladies!
Just stopping by to see what some of the other stay at home moms do! I currently have a couple irons in the fire. I design a line of body pillows for dayspas and massage therapy schools, and I also promote wellness and living green. If you read my bio you know that on the top of my priority list is getting healthy! I love working from home! I can work in my pj's if I want!

I recently left my teaching postion to stay at home with my son and to further my thriving business as a Mary Kay consultant.
I have always enjoyed skincare and makeup and serve as a volunteer with the "Look Good...Feel Better" program sponsored by the American Cancer Society. As a cancer survivor myself I find that helping other woman look and feel good is truly my passion and now I have the best of both worlds. I can take care of my son, volunteer to help women in active cancer treatment and work with my customers by providing them with wonderful and affordable skincare and makeup products. I also work as a makeup artist and specialize in Bridal , pageants, and special occassion makeup.

I would like to know if anyone has any other ideas for working at home that are legit? I am doing Partylite but I am having a hard time getting people to have a party. I did avon not much money there either. Does anyone know of maybe data entry or telemarketing I can do at home that is free and has a base pay not commission only? I am going to have to work outside of the home if I do not find something soon.

OMG...I love what I do!! I work from home for Melaleuca, and it has become the greatest job I could ever have. But the main reason I am a customer is because we used to have serious allegy and asthma issues with both of my children and my hubby and I. Our problems went away when we eliminated the chemicals we were using in our home. After a few years of shopping with this company, it evolved into a business for me. It's great because I don't actually sell anything. All I do is set up someone's account and then they shop directly from the company. No hassles!! Anyway, ask Jana or Katie about these amazing products (that you are already using...you are just buying the "chemical versions" of them at Walmart).....they are both customers.....

We both are customers, but also have a  wonderful business at the same time!  Thats whats great about it, you can be simply a customer, or a customer/business builder.  Thats where the benefits come into play!

Thanks for everyones ideas!  I do have a question for any independent sales reps out there.  With Partylite I went through all my family and friends for parties and now I have no one, how do you book your parties or get your orders?

Thanks for everyones ideas!  I do have a question for any independent sales reps out there.  With Partylite I went through all my family and friends for parties and now I have no one, how do you book your parties or get your orders?

I've never had a problem with bookings.  In over 4 years with Tastefully Simple, I have always been blessed with 6-10 parties per month, and I generally have to pass parties along to my team members in the 4th quarter because it just gets too insane!

A couple of questions to ask are (1) Is my product marketable and desireable? (2) Is the market saturated with the product I am selling and the number of consultants selling it? (3) Do I really love and have a passion for the product I sell?

Then, you need to make sure you are talking about your company/products to everyone!  Wear logo wear for your company, have a sign on your car, always have catalogs and business cards with you for those spur of the moment conversations, and most importantly make sure your parties/shows are FUN!  People want to re-create a fun experience. so if you are having fun, and your guests are enjoying themselves the bookings will come.

Most importantly, though, is ASK, ASK, ASK!!!  You are not being pushy when you are offering someone the opporunity to earn free products with your company.  I ask every single person at checkout when they would like to get their taste-testing parties scheduled.  The worst that will happen is that they will say no, which leaves me no worse off than if I hadn't asked in the first place.  Many people want to host a party (or join your team) but they are too shy to make the first move...so just ask!

I would love to share with anyone interested how to have a business with Mary Kay.

The company has a new ,fresh look but still has the wonderful skincare products that improve skin in as little as three days.

The training and support I receive is awesome.  Everything from how to make a plan that works, setting up a business budget, sharing the opportunity, servicing customers and most importantly how to have on going bookings.  Without much effort I was able to replace my teaching income to stay at home.  I started my business with $100.00 and made that back  in the first two hours I worked.   I am starting now to have reorders which increases the amount of money I make.  Products that are in demand and are commsumable almost gaurantee reorders and new business.

OK I have been here before.  There are a couple of things you can do to get things kick started again!

  • Host your own party - invite EVERYONE - friends, family, neighbors, past co-workers, past guests. It is a good way to get things going again and with the holidays coming up it is a great time for your peeps to shop.  Also, if I remember correctly, PL usually has great specials this time of year.  Offer a drawing for all who attend to win a host special.
  • Call your past guests -- see how they like all there goodies and then chat about "getting their friends together"  and what great host specials are going on.
  • Do a Booking Blitz - call/e-mail everyone in 24 hours and let everyone you e-mail/call know that everyone who books and hosts a party will go into a drawing for a free gift.

Hope that helps some.  These aren't anything new (i'm sure) it is really just getting on phone and making the calls (which I totally hate)!

Good luck -- if you have any questions e-mail me at kim.stlmoms@gmail.com

If you have the extra cash then get a booth at a craft show.  I've heard people do very well there.

Some other ideas for you:

  • leave business cards everywhere - bathrooms, with the resturant bill, in christmas cards, birthday cards
  • Make a flyer and hand out to small businesses, put on cars in parking lots
  • Join myspace and do random friend requests (I've never done this but one of my friends did and she said it worked for her)
  • Team up with another rep from a different company and do a trade party - she'll host a party for you if you do one for her (I've done that and had really good success)

I'm sure I'll think of more!
