OK I need some help, advice,  something........I am due to deliver my twin girls anyday now, my husband and I have looked into various daycares for the time when I will need to return to work and are not greatly satisified with what we have found.   We are both health care workers and work 8 or 12 hour shifts......this means I would only need day care 3 days per wek potentially.  Most day cares make you pay a flat fee for "part-time" regardless of of you need it or not.    I guess I am looking for something that will give my girls a safe place to be and that will be reasonable to afford..................any ideas, suggestions, what has worked for many of you...........any and all help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks

Hi,
My experience is somewhat similar in that I only work part time. I actually found our last two sitters from a website, http://www.sittercity.com/ (and the one we have now is wonderful with my kids). I was a bit weary of it at first, but it has really proven to be a great resource for us. There is a wide range of persons providing services to fit just about any need (from FT nanny to PT sitters to in-home child care). They even have a back ground check feature. You can create your own profile and/or search for a sitter that matches what you are looking for.

Hope this can help!

My name is Sara and I am in Florissant area. I have the same problem. I work the longer shifts mainly at night so the time frame I would need is early mornings. It has been hard finding a sitter who is willing to watch my two year old daughter that early. If anyone knows of a solution please I am all ears. 314-809-5357
