Jazz up your kid’s room with some fun and funky ideas! Kid’s change their
interests as quickly as they do the style and color of their hair! Keeping up with
them is a job in itself. Like grownups, kids need a little space for themselves, to play, to dream, to think and to grow. Help your child make their room into a creative, energetic space they will love! You can make some simple changes that make a huge difference by moving furniture around, adding accessories, changing
the bedding and curtains! To totally remodeling the space completely! The choice is yours. Here are a few unique creative ways to make that happen.

Headboards – Plywood is cheap and easy to work with. Cut out shapes, pull out the paint and create a masterpiece. Cover with fabric to match the theme of the room, pull out your favorite photos and make a headboard collage! I love the idea of painting it with chalkboard paint! “Message Headboard!”

Walls – Use paint and go crazy! I recently saw a room decorated like a forest.
Trees, flowers, and birds were painted on the wall! It was beautiful! Find something you like a let your imagination go wild. Make it a family project. Not an artist? There are wonderful stencils that can get you started, and you can find them at your local craft stores. Wall murals are awesome! Check out the internet and research these, because there are so many amazing murals out there.
Wall art is a fun project! Frame up some of the kids favorite art and display it!
Have them pick out some pictures of their friends and make some fun frames to put them in.

Bedding, rugs, and accessories - Most people pick out their bedding first and then begin the decorating process from the pattern they choose. Great idea!
Take your kids shopping and let them pick something they love! Colorful, and fun is what its all about. The rugs they have these days are so funky you feel like hanging them on the wall like a piece of art! Accessories are fun and make a room interesting!

Organize the space! Shelves, hooks, bins, and plenty of storage is a must!
I have put some photos in the gallery under “Decorating” to give you a visual of what I’m talking about.

If you have any decorating tips or stories you would like to share, let’s hear it!

I had a lot of fun painting my baby's room.  Our ultrasound predicted a girl.  I wanted the room to be like the outdoors.  We picked a color of blue that was as close to "sky" as possible.  Then I painted clouds around the top of the room using white paint thinned with glaze.  I had drawn the clouds on the wall with white chalk for placement and sizing, then used a sponge to apply the paint and some wadded up cheese cloth to soften them.  It turned out great, I wish I had a picture to post.  Anyhow, our girl was actually a boy and it was quite fun to reply that his room had been blue all along

MamaCat I would love to see a photo of your room!  It sounds like you put lots of work into making it special! I love to decorate, I just wish I had more time and money to make it happen.  I always say "Im going to stay on budget" LOL  well that never happens!
