Hi, my name is Jana and I’m a Stlmom! I’m not your typical “Lean mean fighting machine,” but I recently came to the conclusion that I need to put my health and fitness at the top of my priority list and work on being just that! Stepping out and placing my “before” picture on the site was a challenge in itself, but I feel it’s important to show progress, as well as, to keep your mind set. So being a voice for the Health and Fitness section of Stlmoms is very important and a wonderful challenge for me.
Jana I loved the boxing class. If this elbow of mine wasn't giving me so much trouble I would be right there with you again. I think a wellness team is a wonderful idea and am looking forward to shedding some pounds and getting into shape wtih you.

Wow Jana! I'm soooo very proud of you and can definitely tell a difference in you from this "before" picture. The walk we did today at Creve Coeur Park was perfect! Bet we burned some calories there because "We're Bringing Sexy Back...Yeah!"....HA!

Just wanted to give you an update on my progress! We had two weeks off of boxing, and the new class started last week. I really love this class, and I have to say thank you to my friend Monica Adams for her support and kick butt workouts! I will continue to take the fitness boxing classes as long as they are available, and I have set some goals to stay focused over the holidays.
The Holidays are always rough, and with the success I have had so far the last thing I want is to fall back into bad habits. I have talked with Monica about helping me put up some words of encouragement, as well as, helpful hints to help make the holidays fun and healthy!
I have received several emails asking what STLMoms Wellness Team is all about. Well, think of it as a place you can come to discuss "Health & Fitness." A group a Moms that are interested in losing weight, sharing weight loss stories, encouraging others, sharing the workout that really works, and simply just meeting new friends that share a desire to "Get Healthy!"
I have heard several of my friends talk about Mall walking. Have you ever tried this? Would you be interested in getting together and walking at a near by Mall? If there are enough people interested we can make this one happen.

Hi, my name is Tammy, and I'm from the Lincoln County area.This is my first time at STL MOMS,& I would love to be apart of your workout team, or get one started in my area. I have 2 kids who are 16 & 17, so the days of running all over for practices are over, and I have no excuse for the extra pounds now. Before, it was cuz we were eating on the run. Now, its....well I really dont know, haha. I hope to get support in my area like you have gained. Thanks for letting me post here today.

Hey Monica! Thanks so much for stopping by and giving us all a word of encouragment! For those of you who don't know Monica, she does traffic on the morning show with Fox2! She is an amazing trainer and I have to say she has really helped me turn my life around. I have a long road, but with each turn Monica, my friends, and family are there every step of the way!! Thanks again Monica, your a inspiration to us all!

Keeping on track during the holidays are always hard! If you have any low fat, yummy recipes to share I'm sure everyone of us would appreciate a little assistance in the kitchen! Not to mention keeping the scale in the right place! LOL
Jana....I am very proud of how you have stuck with it even with the stress you have been under and "stuff". I am very interested in joining the boxing.... AND I am interested in the Mall walking....could we find one in bet. us?

Thanks girl for the words of encouragement!! I can always use then, and appreciate them more than you could ever know! I didn't gain, just pretty much stayed the same. I'm suprised I didn't loose, but I had to stop boxing for a couple of weeks because of the pneumonia! But classes start back up soon, so I will be ready to hit it hard again!! I will find out more on when the next session starts up and get back with ya!

Time to take off those unwanted pounds that were added during the holidays!
I did well, but spent most of the month sick! Not a great way to keep the pounds off, but it was affective! LOL Spent December fighting pneumonia and just now starting to feel back on track.
Boxing class started back up on Tuesday and there were lots of new faces! It's going to be a blast! I've been in the class since Monica started it, and I have a feeling she is going to kick it up a notch!
I have set some new goals, and I'm on a mission! This is the year that I will be in shorts this Summer! Thinking positive is what has got me this far, so thats where I'm going with all this! Down "Positive" street all the way! I could always use some encouragement, so if you stop by, please help keep this girl see the light! LOL
