Hi, my name is Jana and I’m a Stlmom! I’m not your typical “Lean mean fighting machine,” but I recently came to the conclusion that I need to put my health and fitness at the top of my priority list and work on being just that! Stepping out and placing my “before” picture on the site was a challenge in itself, but I feel it’s important to show progress, as well as, to keep your mind set.  So being a voice for the Health and Fitness section of Stlmoms is very important and a wonderful challenge for me.

 
My life consists of running all the time! I have an excuse for every pound, but not one is acceptable! Time to wake up and strive for a healthy me!  In April I started taking a fitness boxing class and have lost 28lbs! I love the class and it keeps me moving in a healthy and very positive way. I have goals that I reach for and with the help of my trainer, Monica Adams, she is helping me every step of the way. I have a routine that I
follow through diet, supplements, exercise, and a positive attitude! The positive attitude is key to success!

Jana I loved the boxing class. If this elbow of mine wasn't giving me so much trouble I would be right there with you again.  I think a wellness team is a wonderful idea and am looking forward to shedding some pounds and getting into shape wtih you.

Jana a support group goes along way to being fit or really doing anything in life. We need a support base. I have bought so many videos it is ridiculous. I get support at home for about a week. I really need to set my mind to it and do it. I think you are a very positive person and you will hit your goal. I am always here if you need me.

Also...my before pics that I took should have been ambition enoiugh but it is so icky that I hide it. LOL It would be ok to show it if I have a great after pic!

Wow Jana!  I'm soooo very proud of you and can definitely tell a difference in you from this "before" picture.  The walk we did today at Creve Coeur Park was perfect!  Bet we burned some calories there because "We're Bringing Sexy Back...Yeah!"....HA!

Jana. Great job on the weight loss hon. Keep up the good work. If I can ever get my life in order Im going to start to loose some of my weight. If you ever get a chance to let me know your seceret of how I can make time for myself please let me know

Shelley! Good to see you on here. Here is one tip that I have and I live by it. Take one night a week, or day if you work nights and block off a period of an hour or two. Take that time for yourself. Even if you have to put a few things on hold taking that time for yourself is worth it. I know it is a lot easier said than done, but it can be done.

Just wanted to give you an update on my progress!  We had two weeks off of boxing, and the new class started last week.  I really love this class, and I have to say thank you to my friend Monica Adams for her support and kick butt workouts!  I will continue to take the fitness boxing classes as long as they are available, and I have set some goals to stay focused over the holidays. 

The Holidays are always rough, and with the success I have had so far the last thing I want is to fall back into bad habits.  I have talked with Monica about helping me put up some words of encouragement, as well as, helpful hints to help make the holidays fun and healthy!

I have received several emails asking what STLMoms Wellness Team is all about.  Well, think of it as a place you can come to discuss "Health & Fitness."   A group a Moms that are interested in losing weight, sharing weight loss stories, encouraging others, sharing the workout that really works, and simply just meeting new friends that share a desire to "Get Healthy!" 

I have heard several of my friends talk about Mall walkingHave you ever tried this?  Would you be interested in getting together and walking at a near by Mall?  If there are enough people interested we can make this one happen. 

Thanks again for all the words of encouragement!  Good Friends and a great trainer make life a little easier!

Hi, my name is Tammy, and I'm from the Lincoln County area.This is my first time at STL MOMS,&  I would love to be apart of your workout team, or get one started in my area. I have 2 kids who are 16 & 17, so the days of running all over for practices are over, and I have no excuse for the extra pounds now. Before, it was cuz we were eating on the run. Now, its....well I really dont know, haha.  I hope to get support in my area like you have gained. Thanks for letting me post  here today.

Ladies, I want to first say how proud I am of all of you for making the most important decision of your life and that is to take control of your overall health! Noone can make you get in shape or lower your cholesterol, get off your diabetes medication, lower your blood pressure, reduce your risk of heart attack or to lose those unwanted pounds until YOU are absolutely ready mentally! Speaking your truth and putting yourself out there for all to see, hear about and support is the first step to the happiest days of your life. I am so proud of Jana for her stick to it attitude! Look at her before and after pictures...her face alone shows her success and I don't just mean how chiseled her jawline is getting...I mean how she Lights up because she knows she is getting healthier and taking back her life, not only for herself but for those around her that love her and want her to live..I mean truly LIVE!

I am here for any of you that need a little push, help with your program or trainer advice! You Go Moms!

HI JANA!! YOU LOOK GREAT!! I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU ABOUT A MONTH AGO, IT HAD BEEN SUCH A LONG TIME SINCE I HAD SEEN YOU. FOR ALL OF YOU OTHERS LADIES JANA AND I WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER!! SHE WAS SO POSITIVE THEN AND IT SEEMS EVEN MORE SO!! THAT BOXING LOOKS TO BE ALLOT OF FUN!! OF COURSE I WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MY WRIST HEALS UP!! I AM UP FOR ALL OF THE ENCOURAGEMENT BECAUSE WE DO ALL NEED IT!! I TELL MY BOYS ALL THE TIME, "YOU CAN MAKE SOMEONES DAY WITH JUST A SMILE" IMAGINE WHAT THIS SITE COULD DO. Hey Monica!  Thanks so much for stopping by and giving us all a word of encouragment!  For those of you who don't know Monica, she does traffic on the morning show with Fox2!   She is an amazing trainer and I have to say she has really helped me turn my life around.  I have a long road, but with each turn Monica, my friends, and family are there every step of the way!!   Thanks again Monica, your a inspiration to us all!

Carla girl is was great seeing you again!!  Seems our paths have been crossing more and more!  Get that wrist healed up and come boxing with me~!!   Anyone else that is interested let me know!  Great work out, and great friends!!  Thanks for putting a smile on my face today, I really needed it!

Keeping on track during the holidays are always hard!  If you have any low fat, yummy recipes to share I'm sure everyone of us would appreciate a little assistance in the kitchen!  Not to mention keeping the scale in the right place!  LOL

Jana....I am very proud of how you have stuck with it even with the stress you have been under and "stuff". I am very interested in joining the boxing.... AND I am interested in the Mall walking....could we find one in bet. us?

Hey Kelly!

Thanks girl for the words of encouragement!!  I can always use then, and appreciate them more than you could ever  know!   I didn't gain, just pretty much stayed the same.  I'm suprised I didn't loose, but I had to stop boxing for a couple of weeks because of the pneumonia!  But classes start back up soon, so I will be ready to hit it hard again!!     I will find out more on when the next session starts up and get back with ya!

Happy New Year! 

Time to take off those unwanted pounds that were added during the holidays!

I did well, but spent most of the month sick!  Not a great way to keep the pounds off, but it was affective! LOL  Spent December fighting pneumonia and just now starting to feel back on track. 

Boxing class started back up on Tuesday and there were lots of new faces!  It's going to be a blast!  I've been in the class since Monica started it, and I have a feeling she is going to kick it up a notch! 

I have set some new goals, and I'm on a mission!  This is the year that I will be in shorts this Summer!  Thinking positive is what has got me this far, so thats where I'm going with all this!  Down "Positive" street all the way!  I could always use some encouragement, so if you stop by, please help keep this girl see the light!  LOL

Thanks to all of you that have helped me in 2007, keep it up in 2008!    Love ya!!
