Living Green is the way to be!

Today we hear all about recycling. You and your family can
play a huge role in keeping our earth green! Take a look on the
web and see what programs are available in your area that will
help make your recycling project a successful one!

Now that you have the recycling down, let’s work on your home!
Take a look at your cleaning products, your medicine cabinet, and
your bath and body items. Are they safe for the environment?
Keep in mind that wellness begins at home, and it all starts with you.
If you are interested in learning more about turning your home green send me a note at jana.stlmoms@gmail.com

Do you have any green tips?

Look at your cleaning products first. Do you see words like Formalyehyde, Phosphates, Ammonia, Clorine Bleach, Abrasives, Aerosol Propellants, just to name a few? Look for words like these, Naturally derived enzymes, Naturally derived cleaners, Baking soda, Vinegar, Essentail Oils, and citrus Solvents. Simply making changes here will help with allergies, breathing problems, and skin irritations.

Check out the labels on your bath and body products, your makeup, your vitamins! We all take vitamins, (well, we should), but so many of them out there our bodies do not absorb. Find out what your putting into your body! If you are interested in more information on an easy and affordable way to convert your home into a safe and healthy enviroment for you and your family please email me and I would be happy to help!

Jana I have an amazing product that I use to clean my bathroom with and it has no harsh smell. I even found that I can clean the bathroom when the kids are in the bath and it doesn't affect them at all. As you know they both has asthma and cleaning products make them cough really bad and this doesn't do that at all. I love it!!

Jana and Katie...you girls have to be talking about the Ecosense cleaners that we use too....WOW is all I can say! I have never used natural cleaners that actually work! I am so super-picky about the things I use not only being safe for our respiratory problems, but also they have to do what they say they're supposed to. The bathroom cleaner that Katie is talking about (Tub and Tile) is probably my favorite cleaner. I will spray down my tub, then wash the sink, and come back to the tub....and the scum just wipes off easily. I do all this with the bathroom door closed and the window shut. Amazing....

I recently started using several make-it-yourself cleaners. WOW so far they are working so good. I was very skeptical of the vinegar and baking soda mixture for bathroom as well as Borax and washing soda for the laundry but man oh man they are working better than the harsh cleaners I was using, they are dirt cheap, and I cleaned my bathroom while my 9 month old played at my feet.

I have been using the Method products sold at Target - dusting polish, shower cleaner and "rinser" for after each use.
But, I am interested in trying the vinegar and baking soda mixtures mentioned above.
