Help I need some advice.. Recently my husband was deployed with the Missouri Air National Guard (not to Iraq, but still gone 4 months.)  While he was gone my 6 year old struggled with school and keeping on task, we had this same issue with him in Kindergarten and assumed it was just a phase.  As I began to try to work with the school, my first reality check was the teacher.. While I had personal dislikes early on about the fashion in which she interacted with myself and my son, I decided this is only first grade I have a long way to go I better chose my battles.  I finally got to the point where I know my son has an issue, however the teacher is not helping the situation nor even working with me to help correct this.  I spoke with the pediatrican we agreed we should have him tested for ADD,  he is definitely not the hyper type, but the lake of being able to focus is definitely his struggle.  I then took him and had him tested, the diagnosis was he is ADD... Realizing some doctors are quick to say that, I went back to my pediatrician after doing some research and requested he be tested for any other possible cause for this behavior.. We removed the tonsils and adnoids, we tested for thyroid, diabetes, allergies, anything I could think of.  Everything came back negative.  He is ADD.  Now comes the problem.... My husband does not agree with ADD, he feels that our son is just misbehaving and that ADD is a made up thing to justify a kids actions.. I struggle so hard with this!  I am now seeing my son struggle socially as well as in school, and I am not being allowed to treat him... How can  I get my husband on board to help our son?  I requested that he do research on ADD and he refuses.  I am at a loss....
