St. Charles County reports 300 new cases of Type A influenza, and there's a good chance it's the swine flu. The CDC warned it would be widespread this year, and the numbers appear to be backing that up. The new cases bring the total number of flu cases in St. Charles County since May to 729. And that's just the number of people who have had it confirmed. The first shipment of the mist vaccine has arrived in St. Charles County, but it is being primarily used to vaccinate health care workers.

Additional doses are on the way for the general public.

The flu has already impacted schools, shutting some of them down. The CDC is saying every business needs to have an backup plan this year. The odds are good that your company will have significant sick cases, so it's a good time to figure out how you will handle mass absenteeism.
