Investigators in University City and Clayton are looking into two separate attacks on college students. One victim was sexually assaulted, the other was robbed. The suspect in each case displayed a handgun and there are similar descriptions.

The most recent attack was just after midnight Monday; a 23-year-old college student getting out of her car in the 7400 block of Byron in Clayton was approached by her attacker. Police say he displayed a dark colored semi-automatic handgun. He then sexually assaulted and robbed the victim and ordered her to walk home. The suspect is described as an African American man, 24 to 30-years-old, 5'7", 140 pounds, with a dark blue or black t-shirt, dark blue jeans, and a backwards ball cap with SLU across the front.

Police say the Clayton suspect's description is similar to a suspect wanted for an armed robbery around 3:00 Sunday morning. Two students were held up at gunpoint off campus in University City. That suspect was described as an African American male, 6'8", wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a blue baseball hat. He had a black handgun.
